Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery and Preschool in Sonning near Reading is approached down a private lane off of Sonning Lane. It is conveniently located just off of the A4 and in close proximity to the M4. Just 3 miles from Reading town centre and next to the prestigious Blue Coats School.
A spacious one storey building set in 4 acres of delightful parkland, transformed by Monkey Puzzle to create an Ofsted registered 56 place day nursery and Preschool of the very highest quality. The nursery is open from 7:30am – 6:30pm 51 weeks a year and caters for children from 3 months to 5 years. Children will benefit from learning and playing in calming and spacious surroundings which have been specifically designed to create a loving, homely and safe environment.
About us
Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery and Preschool is a private nursery owned by Claire and Richard Irving and their two children were the first to attend the nursery when it opened in September 2006. The Nursery Manager is Sarah Harrison. Being parents of two young children Claire and Richard appreciate the challenges faced by working parents and have therefore created a loving and caring environment to ensure every child is happy and healthy during their day so that parents are reassured whilst at work and have no need to worry. At Monkey Puzzle the aim is for every child to be happy and healthy, enjoying their early years at the Nursery and for parents to have peace of mind that their children are in excellent hands.

Our last Ofsted inspection took place on Friday 3rd September 2010, we are pleased to announce that we were graded as ‘Good’ in 15 areas and ‘Outstanding’ in 2 areas of the inspection. `Daniel got some new shoes over the weekend (with Dinosaurs on!) all the way in today he said he was going to tell the teachers at Nursery that he had new shoes. It happened to be Francesca (but could have been anyone) that he told and she showed a genuine interest, listened to what he said and asked questions. It’s very typical of all your staff. Always a smile always enthusiastic. End result Daniel loves going to Nursery and we’re very happy to drop him off.

`On another matter, I did send an email singing the praises of the baby-room, but I am not sure that it got through. I wanted to say that we are really happy with how Joshua has settled and particularly pleased with how Nicky has welcomed him to Monkey Puzzle. I haven’t worried about him being there at all and she seems to take a real interest and pleasure in him which is great to see.’
We have been so incredibly happy with the care Sienna has recieved during her time at Monkey Puzzle. She is completely comfortable there and loves Gemma and Emma looking after her and even talked about how much she missed them while we were on holiday. Please let the girls know how brilliant they are and how much they have encouraged Sienna to develop through her learning.

I would like to inform you and give notice that Abigail’s last day at Monkey Puzzle will be Thursday 2nd September 2010. She has spent 3 years 5 months at Monkey Puzzle – where has that time gone?! and had the most enjoyable and fun-packed time. I want to thank you and your staff for all your hard work and your special care of Abigail. It has made juggling work and motherhood that bit easier knowing she is having a happy time and is well looked after. Happy child = Happy Mummy
